WRITER'S
GUIDELINES
Thank you for your interest in Biodiversity,
Journal of Life on Earth. If possible, we encourage you to use a
sample article as the basis
for manuscript preparation. If you
have question regarding these guidelines, please contact the Managing
Editor (see below). Several sample articles are available at:
www.tc-biodiversity.org/biosamples.htm
The journal’s main priority is to disseminate scientific knowledge
about the biological diversity of the Earth. It is written for both
professionals and non-professionals to link the scientific community
and the public and to widely advocate understanding and appreciation
of all life forms and their roles in the
life-supporting systems
on Earth. The scientific, social and economic understanding of
biological diversity is
fundamental to its effective
management, conservation, protection
of species and habitats and to the comprehensive and
sustainable use of species. Information
published in Biodiversity will benefit a broad audience
including scientists, students, educators, conservation workers,
naturalists, nature lovers, and policy makers. Please

SCIENTIFIC PAPERS
Papers need to be accurate, referenced, and written in a
clear, understandable style. The
range of topics include: biodiversity research, species
discoveries and profiles, effects of
climate change on biodiversity, endangered ecosystems and species etc.
Length: 2000 – 5000 words. Under special
circumstances such as a topic
dealing with the diversity of a selected group of life forms we may
consider publishing a longer paper, of up to 25-30 pages [e.g.
Exploring the diversity of flies (Diptera)] published in
Biodiversity 3(4) November 2002 has 25 pages].
